Friday, November 1

Homecoming Parade
6:00 pm

Join us in Downtown Sylva on Friday, November 1st, as we bring Catamount pride to life! From vibrant floats created by student organizations to spirited displays from our local partners, the parade is a celebration of everything that makes WCU special.

Whether you're reliving your own Homecoming memories or making new ones, don't miss this chance to reconnect with your Catamount family and show off your purple and gold!

 

Alumni Central Post Parade Party
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Kick off Homecoming weekend at the Alumni Parade Party! Downtown Sylva transforms into a vibrant Catamount celebration with live music across multiple venues, a sea of purple and gold, and the lively energy that only Homecoming can bring.

Join us for an unforgettable evening as we take over the streets. Matt Stillwell will be hosting a parking lot party in the Lazy Hiker lot (corner of Main and Landis). Live music brought by Alumni: Tim '86 and Mike '86 Gillespie, Tim '87 and Terri Lynn '88 Queen, Steve Goulas '88, Steve Crawford '85, and more, at Martha’s Place! Local live music will also be offered by other downtown venues.

Chancellor's Brunch and Alumni Awards

Join us for a distinguished celebration at the Chancellor’s Brunch and Alumni Awards, where the Western Carolina University family gathers to honor excellence. On Saturday, November 2nd, from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Grandroom of A.K. Hinds University Center, we will recognize four esteemed alumni and friends for their remarkable career achievements and service to Western Carolina University

This elegant brunch and award ceremony is a highlight of Homecoming, offering an opportunity to reflect on the outstanding contributions of our alumni and their enduring impact on WCU and beyond. We invite you to be part of this special event as we celebrate the legacy and leadership of our Catamount community.

Catamount Alumni Tailgate

Before the big game, don’t miss the Alumni Tailgate—where Catamount spirit is at its peak! Reconnect with old friends, score some exclusive WCU swag, and dive into the electrifying atmosphere that only Homecoming can deliver. This is more than just a tailgate; it’s a high-energy celebration that sets the stage for an unforgettable day of football and fun. Frank's Famous Fish Fry
11:00 am - 2:30 pm

Stop by to enjoy Frank’s Famous Fish Fry located in the Field House Lot! Hosted by Frank Wilson ’78 and the WCU Football Club. All alumni and friends of WCU are invited to attend!

 

Catamount Football vs. Chattanooga
2:30 pm

Join us on November 2nd for an exciting Homecoming matchup as the Catamounts face off against Chattanooga. Cheer on the Catamounts and revel in the high-energy atmosphere. Don’t miss the stellar halftime performance by the Pride of the Mountains Marching Band. Learn more about gameday parking.

African American Alumni Society Post Game Social
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Join us from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in UC Illusions for a vibrant Post Game Social hosted by the African American Alumni Society. The evening will kick off with a business meeting, followed by a chance to mingle and unwind with fellow african american alumni. Enjoy a selection of food and drinks as we celebrate and connect after the game. We look forward to seeing you there!

African American Alumni Society Flannel Pajama Party
8:45 pm

Get cozy and join us for a Flannel Pajama Party and Movie Night at the UC Theater, starting at 8:45 p.m. The featured film is Olympus Has Fallen, perfect for a thrilling end to the evening. Slip into your favorite flannel pajamas and enjoy the movie with concessions available for purchase. Don’t miss out on this fun and relaxing way to wrap up the night!
