Water Plant
Did You Know?
WCU water treatment plant is over 50 years old. It is one of only two schools in North Carolina with their own water plant. Also, it is a one million gallon per day conventional water treatment plant and is equipped with precipitation gauges and temperature gauges to collect weather data .
The plant is operated by four certified water treatment plant operators, including
the water plant supervisor. An average of 400,000 gallons of water per day are currently
being treated and supplied to the main campus. Our constant goal is to supply the
campus with a safe and dependable supply of drinking water.
