Thomas Golden

Western Carolina University senior Thomas C. Golden, a member of the spring graduating class, will deliver the primary address for Western Carolina University’s morning undergraduate commencement. He was chosen for that honor by a campus committee through a speaker selection process that was open to all graduating undergraduate students.

A native of Holly Springs, Golden graduated from Holly Springs High School in 2017 and has majored in construction management at WCU.

Outside of class, Golden served as chapter president of the Nu Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., a mentor for Project CARE, secretary for the Black Student Union, a founding member of Black CM, which is a student support group for black students in the construction management major, and a member of Order of Omega.

In recognition of his service, Golden won the American HomePlace Scholarship in 2018 and the Joel W. Kimmel Scholarship, the I Love WCU Scholarship and the Kimmel Endowed Scholarship in 2017.
