Catamount Club
The Catamount Club Greek Challenge is designed to allow alumni to celebrate the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood that span the decades at WCU, while also helping continue the mission to generate scholarship support for Catamount Athletics. Greek Alumni make a tremendous impact for WCU Athletics. With your help, we can reach our goal of 625 Greek members participating in the competition this year.
The Catamount Club has set new fundraising records the last 8 years, this is due in large part to the overwhelming success of the Greek Challenge. In fact, in recent years over 50% of the annual scholarship fund is donated by Greek alumni. We wouldn’t be able to continually surpass our goal, if it weren’t for the transformational generosity from the entire Greek Community!
As we look to the future, we plan on continuing to break records, but we cannot do this without your help. The Greek Challenge plays a vital role in impacting our student-athletes as well as spreading the Catamount Club message. With the bonds that fraternities and sororities hold, the Greek Challenge is a perfect avenue to engage new Catamount fans and connect them with what we are building in Cullowhee.
As this year’s Challenge progresses, the Catamount Club asks you to reach out to your network of brothers and sisters and encourage them to get involved and make a difference in the future of WCU Athletics.

Renew or join the Catamount Club and reach alumni affiliated with a Greek organization.
Engage alumni to become loyal supporters of Western Carolina Athletics
Assist the WCU Division of Advancement and WCU Alumni Association in increasing the overall participation rate among alumni and collecting and updating alumni contact information inclusive of fraternity and sorority affiliations.
Communicate the importance of fraternity and sorority relationships to WCU Athletics
Help to increase the Catamount Club membership to support WCU student athletes.
Each fraternity and sorority will be broken down into two divisions, based on membership size.

This year’s Greek Challenge winners will be determined based off four metrics.
Each organization will be ranked, within their flight, based on performance in each of the above metrics. The four rankings will be averaged together to produce an organizations final ranking. The organizations with the lowest score in the flight will be the winner. There will be a Fraternity and Sorority winner in each flight respectively, as well as an overall winner, for a total of 5 winners for this year’s Greek Challenge.
From there, you will select the division your organization is competing in. Find your respective organization and donate to that group. Your donation will be counted for your respective organization and to the overall Greek Challenge. You can check back at any time to see where your fraternity or sorority stands in comparison.
You may also make your donation by contacting the Catamount Club Office by calling 828.227.3047 or emailing CatamountClub@wcu.edu. All donations made since the end of the last year's contest will count toward this year's Challenge. If you are not sure if your donation qualifies for this year's Challenge, please contact the Catamount Club Office and we will be happy to assist you!
The deadline to participate in the Challenge will be 12:00 am on Saturday, November 6th. Only accounts paid in full or scheduled with one of our staff members will count.
