2018-2019 WCU Staff Tuition and Fees

Rates are dependent upon completion of the tuition waiver form by the first day of class. Complete the electronic Tuition Waiver Request and Application available in myWCU.

Full-time faculty and staff members who are eligible for membership in the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System or Optional Retirement Program are eligible to enroll in three (3) courses per academic year during fall and spring semesters, subject to approval by the employee's supervisor and Human Resources.  Employees may enroll in courses at any of the 17 constituent UNC campuses. Enrollment is on a space-available basis and must not interfere with normal employment obligations. All tuition and mandatory fee charges, except for the undergraduate book rental fee and health insurance fee, if applicable, are waived during fall and spring semesters.  Forms for application are available below or from the Office of Human Resources, and must be completed and approved prior to effective date of the course.

Western Carolina University does not waive tuition charges during the summer sessions.  Employees with residential classes that have not had tuition and fees waived for three (3) classes during the previous fall and spring semesters may complete a Tuition Waiver Request and Application for their summer class/es.  Tuition will not be waived so the employee may expect to pay more during summer but several of the fees are eligible for waiver.  There are no summer tuition waivers for distance learning classes.
