If you are interested in attending Graduate School or curious about the degree programs available at WCU, join us for Graduate Education Week, October 19-23!  Learn more about Graduate School and how to prepare with these fun, free, virtual events!

 

Monday October 19  
12-1pm Staff Tuition Benefits Information Session As faculty and staff at WCU, you are eligible for tuition waivers for up to 3 courses each year. Join us to learn more about these benefits and how you can continue your education while employed at WCU REGISTRATION
5 - 7pm GRE Information Session – Join the Mathematics Tutoring Center for an overview of what to expect on the GRE, with example-problems from past GRE’s, and resources to explore as you begin to prepare. REGISTRATION
   
Tuesday October 20  
12-1pm Post-Graduate Job Search Workshop – this workshop provides current graduate students with resources that will equip them in their post-graduation job search. Topics discussed will include: online Interviews, resume preparation, and job search techniques.  REGISTRATION
5-7pm GRE Information Session – Join the Mathematics Tutoring Center for an overview of what to expect on the GRE, with example-problems from past GRE’s, and resources to explore as you begin to prepare. REGISTRATION
Wednesday, October 21  
3-4:30pm The Graduate School Experience – Join us for a Q&A with our current Graduate Ambassadors and hear about what it is like to be a graduate student at WCU!  REGISTRATION
5-7pm Asheville Biltmore Park Programs Virtual Open House – Learn more about the Graduate School application and admission process and speak with program representatives from your program of interest.  REGISTRATION
Thursday, October 22  
9-10am (Virtual) Coffee with the Dean – current graduate and undergraduate students are invited to join the Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Brian Kloeppel, for a virtual coffee hour. Feel free to bring questions about graduate school at WCU. REGISTRATION
1-5pm

NC Council of Graduate Schools Annual Meeting – Western Carolina University welcomes the NC Council of Graduate Schools for the 2020 Annual Meeting.

 

3-4:30pm

Graduate Admissions Workshop – Calling all current WCU undergraduate students who are interested in graduate school – at WCU or elsewhere! Join this workshop to learn more about the process of applying to graduate school, as well as how to write your application materials such as your personal statement and CV.  REGISTRATION.

7-8pm

Social with GSA Join Elijah McCoy (GSA President) and your peers to learn about what is going on around WCU! There will be a time of networking with your peers and the opportunity for Q&A with GSA representatives. REGISTRATION

Friday October 23  
9am-12 noon NC Council of Graduate Schools Annual Meeting Western Carolina University welcomes the NC Council of Graduate Schools for the 2020 Annual Meeting.

Free Application Day – starting at midnight on Thursday night October 22, 2020, the application fee will be waived for the first 77 submitted applications from current WCU students, WCU alumni, or current WCU faculty and staff!
