Communications Committee Report 2001-2002 |
| Submitted by Debie Connelly, Chair |
| |
At the beginning of the year the Communications Committee met on a monthly basis to ensure that all of the mechanism put in place during the first two years of the organization were working properly. The group also evaluated those communication channels already establishedthe university governance Web site, the UAC newsletter, and other constituency newsletters.
It was suggested to regularly publish a newsletter twice a year, once in the fall to update all of the groups as to what had happened during the summerif anything and what plans, ideas, and problems that the UAC would be involved with during the year. The spring issue would summarize UAC accomplishments during the year.
The committee recommended to the UAC executive board and the UAC that membership of the Communication Committee be refined to include the communication officer from each of the constituencies. Those people were in a position to relay information both ways, to and from each of the groups. Most would have a mechanism already in place to tap into if the issue warranted such action.
The committee would only meet once a quarter unless needed. |
