*The dead animal count is not a scientific experiment...check out yesterday's explaination.
We left Mt. Pisgah this morning at about 9:00. We stopped along the way for some photos and sailed into Asheville. "It is never all down hill" however. We met with Tammy Watford and the WLOS news team for a short time.
After a look around the Folk Art Center we took Troy to the Doc to have his big toe removed. No, really it just felt like he had it removed. He actually only had 1/4 of his toe nail cut out. He is "hi ney tie yv"...Cherokee for "tough as a wild animal." Then we skipped on up to Boone where we left off on our 100 mile shake down ride last month.
The weather has been great, the scenery outstanding and the traffic is light. The miles unfold with each rotation of our wheels...

A few bike stats for Mr.Livingston:
Jody and Troy are riding bikes with 26 inch by 1.4 inch tires. Their cranks are 22-32-42 on the front and rear is an 11-28. Therese and I are riding 700 by 25 mm tires with a front crank of 38 and 53. Our rear cassettes are 13-26. Big gears don't matter much on the parkway because you spend very little time pedaling down hill. Aerodynamics is also not important because 80% of your time you spend climbing. Also, 62.5% of all statistics are made up on the spot!
