Day 10

Sherandon Lake to Loft Mountain

The bike chain gang has finished the Blue Ridge Parkway! We only have 105 miles of the Skyline Drive and 105 miles of our trip to go!

We stopped at Humpback Rocks visitor center on the way down to Rockfish Gap the terminus of the parkway for those who are northbound. At mile post 1 we met cuzin Bob the mayor of mile post one. Cuzin Bob has made several cameos today.

The Bike-Chain Gang after 469 miles at Mile Post "0"

The way we really felt about it!!!

We made our way into the Shenandoah National Park today. A rain storm blew in today. It has left us with very windy conditions and temps down into the 30's tonight.

Deer left, Bear right

There is an abundance of wildlife here in the park. The deer are almost tame. A shower cost a $1. If you ever get up this way make sure you have plenty of change.

Edith has had great dinners for us each night...wow! Thanks Edith!

Edith and Troy on break

We only have 2 more days of riding. It hardly seems like we have been on the road for 10 days.

Other unusual statistics:

Most bee stings...Todd had 4 in one day. If you have seen that shirt you understand why.

Most Pain endured...Has to be Troy for the toe nail removal.

Most bugs collected on any one person in a given day...Todd had 77... again, that shirt. Makes a shower extra nice.

Most coffee consumed...Therese, only 1 cup each morning.

Most Emergency Room Visits on this trip...tie, Troy and Todd

Most likley to not wear his letter jacket...Jody, he owes too much $.

Most laughter...Jody...and Therese... (usually at each other)
