Day Nine:
July 13th
On Wednesday, after 6 days and almost 250 miles of bicycling, the group enjoyed a much deserved day off. We slept in until 8:00 am (that's late for us!) and started the day with eggs and pancakes. After breakfast and journaling, we went to the Lewis and Clark Discovery Center at Hells Gate State Park - most of us slept through the 30 minute documentary (they don't call it a "rest" day for nothing). Then it was off to do laundry -a few of us went to the library to catch up with the rest of the world; everybody else watched a homerun derby on the TV at the laundromat. The best part of the day was the Aquatic Park: three giant slides, a lazy river, an indoor pool, and a wave pool. We stayed there until it closed then headed back to the campsite for burgers and hotdogs. It was a well deserved break for all of our hard work.
