The University of North Carolina system is pleased to announce exciting changes to our Student Health Insurance Program. Beginning with the Fall 2013 semester, Student Blue from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC) will replace our current student health insurance plan from Pearce & Pearce on 16 UNC campuses.

Students attending WCU are required to show proof of valid medical insurance coverage or must enroll in the mandatory UNC System health plan.

Requirements are:
• enrolled in a degree-seeking program, AND
• enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours, AND
• eligible to pay the campus student health fee

The waiver period for Fall 2013 semester will be open from June 3, 2013 to September 10, 2013.
If you have other health insurance and would like to waive the mandatory UNC system health plan, please visit WAIVE MANDATORY PLAN and follow the instructions on that website.
