Meet Our Providers

Jeff Davis, MD                                                                                       
Dr. Davis is a native of Pennsylvania. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Hahnamann (now Drexel) University School of Medicine in 1982. Dr. Davis has worked at WCU for over 25 years. He enjoys spending time with his family.

Tom Archer, MD,
Dr. Archer was born and raised in Washington DC suburbs.  Graduated with honors from the University of Richmond 1975 (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa).  University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1981.  Residency training OBGYN Maryland and University Hospital Baltimore 1985.  US Navy active duty OBGYN attending.  OBGYN private practice 1988 - 2003.  WCU Health Services 2006 to present. Dr Archer enjoys reading and finding time to visit with his grandson.

Don Carringer, MD
Dr. Carringer is a native of WNC. He was born and raised in Murphy, NC. He graduated from University of Chapel Hill School of Medicine in 1983. He worked as a physician and medical director in Graham County for several years. Dr. Carringer has worked in college health for over 10 years. He loves to farm, fish, hike and spend time with his wife and children.


Kristy Hopkins, NP-C

Kristy is a native of WNC. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from WCU in 2002.Worked in nursing in community hospital until completing Master of Science in Nursing as Family Nurse Practitioner in 2010 from WCU. She worked in pediatrics for two years as nurse practitioner prior to joining WCU staff. Kristy enjoys spending time with her family including sports activities.
