Mountain Heritage Center The Mountain Heritage Center, located at the entrance to the campus of Western Carolina University, presents a deeper understanding of the rich cultural and natural heritage of the southern Appalachian region.
The Biltmore Estate, Asheville NC Discover America's Largest Home, built by George Vanderbilt. The 8,000 acres are surrounded by inspiring gardens, Americas most-visited winery, and the Interpretive River Bend Farm.
Great Smoky Mountains In the Great Smoky Mountains, discover 500 thousand acres of Southern Appalachian wilderness on one of the oldest uplands on earth! The Smoky Mountains are 95 percent forest - home to diverse wildlife, breathtaking streams, waterfalls and flowering plants.
Cherokee Indian Reservation Located on the border of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The 56,000 acre Reservation is still linked to ancient customs, culture, history, and traditions.
Harrah's Cherokee Casino Features non-stop casino action in an 88,000-square-foot gaming space with video-style gambling, with 3,500 slot, video poker and video blackjack games, an entertainment arena and three restaurants.
Unto These Hills One of the most compelling outdoor dramas, Unto These Hills, tells the tragic story of how the Cherokee ancestors were forcefully driven out of the Great Smoky Mountains and marched 1,200 miles to Oklahoma.
Whitewater Rafting Whitewater Rafting and kayaking can be arranged on the nearby Tuckaseegee River Gorge and The Nantahala River for 4 hours to 7 hours. Prices vary from $18-$25 accommodating up to 60 participants. Raft trips will be guide assisted allowing the opportunity for participants to work together to maneuver down the river.
Land-Based Programs  Base Camp Cullowhee offers state-of-the-art indoor climbing wall, along with guided hiking trips, rock climbing and rappelling, team-building activities, and caving at Worley's Cave, known for its voluminous size. It has more than 37,000 feet of mapped passages on two levels.
