Important Note for All Residents:
For the 2013 fall semester, residence halls will open for freshmen and transfer students on, Friday, August 16, 2013 beginning at 7 AM.
The opening day for returning students is Saturday, August 17, 2013 beginning at 7 AM.
Early Arrivals:
Students may need to arrive early to campus due to their involvement in an approved
University function or for personal reasons. Any resident seeking approval to arrive
to campus before the official opening dates must be confirmed as eligible for an early
arrival by an authorized department or organization and approved for an early arrival
by Residential Living.
Each request, and the corresponding date selected, will then be verified by the sponsoring University department before Residential Living ultimately approves or denies the early arrival request. If you are requesting an early arrival for personal reasons, your "Group" is "Residential Living" and your request will be verified by the appropriate staff member. Any student who requests to arrive prior to the scheduled check-in day for personal reasons, will be charged a fee of $30 per day.
The first date that residents approved for an early arrival for personal reasons may enter the residence halls is Wednesday, August 14, 2013, beginning at 10 am. YOUR SPONSOR DETERMINES THE DATE ON WHICH YOU ARE APPROVED TO ARRIVE. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR SPONSOR BEFORE CONFIRMING TRAVEL PLANS. Due to residence hall staff training, and hall maintenance and preparations, residents will not be permitted to arrive at any residence hall before Wednesday, August 14 unless the resident is required to arrive early due to an approved University function.
Students who arrive early, without getting prior approval will be charged additional fees.
Please be aware that meal plans will not be in effect for early arrivals. Each student or group must make arrangements to cover meals until University Food Services begin operations for 2013 Fall semester.
Please be aware that students, who are approved to arrive on August 15, will need to check into the residence halls between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on that date.
