Reid Pool is located in Reid Gymnasium. You can access the pool by going through the locker rooms in Reid. The pool is used for various programs and activities, including Open Swim, Aqua Exercise, and Family Swim. Other groups use the pool for academic classes, kayak clinics, and swimming programs so be sure to check our pool hours for updates.
Anyone with a CatCard can participate in Open Swim! Just be sure to bring your CatCard with you every time you enter the pool.
Aqua Exercise Classes
We offer Aqua Exercise classes as part of our Group Xercise program. If you are a member of the Campus Recreation Center (CRC), just purchase a Group X pass and you’ll be set to come to Aqua X classes throughout the semester! If you are not a member of the CRC, but are affiliated with WCU (faculty, staff, spouse), you can purchase an Aqua X pass from the Campus Recreation Center.
Community members (not affiliated with WCU) can also purchase an Aqua X pass through Educational Outreach on campus. Call 828-227-7397 for more information.
Family Swim is a service Campus Recreation & Wellness offers in order to provide time for youngsters to get in the pool with their parents/guardians. Those interested in bringing their kids to the pool need to come to the Campus Recreation Center to purchase a semester pass for Family Swim. This pass is $10.00 for the entire family to enjoy Family Swim. A spouse or partner can be added to the roster as well as the number of kids you have so that all of you can come together to enjoy the pool. Each day has specific times that families with the Family Swim pass can come to swim. Click here for pool hours.
