WCU TRAIL SYSTEM IS OPEN!!!
The WCU Multi-Use Trail system is 6.8miles of narrow single track trail designed for foot traffic and mountain bike use. Trailheads: The trail system has two trailheads. One is located near the softball field and picnic area on WCU main campus, east of HWY107. Trail users then travel through the pedestrian tunnel under 107 and access the trail on NCCAT property. The second trailhead is located at the parking lot for the new Health and Human Sciences building.Parking:
*Please do not park on NCCAT Property*
WCU Students/Faculty/Staff: Park wherever your standard parking permit allows on WCU campus.
General Community: Parking is available at the WCU picnic area behind the softball field or in the commuter
student lot at the Health and Human Science Building. If parking on campus between
7-5, M-F, you should obtain a visitor parking permit. You can obtain a visitor parking
permit for free by visiting the parking services office located adjacent to the Campus
Police office behind the Camp building (see ineractive campus map: http://www.wcu.edu/546.asp) Long term visitor passes are available. The office is open 8-5, M-F. If parking
on campus on weekends or after hours, no parking permit is required.
Mountain Bike Code of Conduct:
It is the responsibility of the rider to maintain a safe operating speed and ability
to stop at the limit of your site distance.
Trail Guidelines:
- Participate at your own risk
- Stay on the designated trail
- No alcohol on the property and you must not be under the influence of alcohol or
drugs while on the trail system
- No Camping
- No Fires
- This is WCU property, so all WCU policies apply, such as: No guns or weapons
WE NEED YOUR HELP! volunteers are critical to the ongoing maintenance of this project.

Where to Meet:
Meet at BASE CAMP CULLOWHEE located in Brown Hall on WCU campus. We'll drive from there to the location of work for the day. You are welcome to ride with us in the van or drive yourself.

Do you have a group of people wanting to come volunteer? Can't make it to any of the

and we can set up a special session just for you!
What to Bring:
Wear LONG PANTS and STURDY SHOES. No sandals or flip-flops. Optional items: Water
Bottle, Gloves, Small Backpack, snacks
What to Expect:
We'll meet at the van and distribute a few tools. We'll then hike as a group to the
spot on the trail that we are currently doing work. The walk is 10-30min on uneven
terrain. At the end of the work session we will then gather as a group and hike back
out.
