Alison Joseph
Social Research Assistant

Alison Joseph is a Social Research Assistant in the Office of Institutional Research and Planning. Alison's main functions within the office are external survey reporting, coordination of the campus-wide survey cycle, assistance with the annual completion and publication of the University Fact Book, peer analysis and General Administration accountability/performance reporting, and support of the CourseEval system.

 

Alison was born and raised in Clearwater, Florida. While in Florida, she received an AA degree from Saint Petersburg College and completed some coursework at the University of South Florida. She managed a private sector call center specializing in sales of sports equipment.

 

Alison and her husband, Ken, moved to Western North Carolina in early 2004. At that time, she started work with Western Carolina University in the Institute for the Economy and the Future focusing on economic regional development. She quickly advanced within that organization and was soon promoted to assistant director of the Research, Rapid Survey & Polling Center. There her primary activities included instrument development, sample management, data analysis, and interviewer training.

 

Alison is currently enrolled as a full-time student at Western Carolina University finishing her Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences with a minor in Computer Information Systems. She plans to pursue an advanced degree upon completion of her undergraduate studies.
