Minutes

September 26, 2005
Enka Campus

Present: Sharon Jacques and Nursing faculty

The following feedback was discussed:

Core values, first set, bullet 4 — revise to read

Intellectual competence in the acquisition and use of professional and technical skills; and

Strategic Directions and Strategic Goals

3. Add bullet —

Collaborate with stakeholders by engaging in professional reciprocity.

4. Add to bullet 2 —

…. changing economic opportunities, emerging technologies, professional needs, and demographic trends

5. Move last bullet (extracurricular programming) up to first position

Add to bullet 4 —

Improve the student campus dining experience.

Add bullet —

Provide distance education access to student support services (e.g., Writing Center).

6. Add to bullet 1 --

….diversity and competence of students, faculty, and staff.

Add to bullet 2 --

….available to Western students , faculty, and staff.

Change bullet 5:

Respond to the needs of a changing demographic population in the state (e.g., Hispanic/Latino).

7.  This is so important, we recommend moving it up into the #2 slot.

8. This item could be higher on the list, maybe #3, unless it should be left as literally “the bottom line.”
