WESTERN ANNOUNCES “SNEAK PEEK,”
AN EARLY START FOR FRESHMAN CLASS ‘05

CULLOWHEE – Although the folks at Western Carolina University are still in the midst of preparations for the incoming freshman class for the fall of 2004, potential members of the freshman class of 2005 can get an early start on the college visitation process this summer.

Western's Office of Admissions is offering a special summer Sneak Peek program Friday, July 16, designed to give prospective students and their parents an opportunity to visit campus as part of their summer vacation travels.

“The mountains of Western North Carolina attract thousands of visitors every summer,” said Phil Cauley, director of admissions. “Adding a summer Sneak Peek to the mix of open houses, campus tours and other activities we typically offer throughout the year provides an opportunity for many students and their families to combine a college visit with their summer travel plans.”

In addition to providing an initial first-hand look at Western's campus, the summer Sneak Peek also will enable prospective students and parents to tailor their visits by selecting from multiple sessions throughout the day – including financial aid, scholarships and admissions requirements.

The event gets under way with registration beginning at 9 a.m. in A.K. Hinds University Center, followed by an information fair, information sessions and campus tours, with pay-as-you-go lunch available in a campus dining establishment.
