WESTERN’S PHYSICAL THERAPY
PROGRAM RECEIVES ACCREDITATION

CULLOWHEE – Western Carolina University’s master’s degree program in physical therapy recently received notification of reaccreditation by a national organization that ensures high standards in physical therapy programs.

After a thorough review of Western’s program, accreditation was granted by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association.

Western’s physical therapy program began offering course work in the fall of 1996. Last April, for the second consecutive year, the program earned a perfect score on the profession’s national licensing examination, with 100 percent of test-takers from Western’s program passing on their first attempt.
