WESTERN CAROLINA UNIVERSITY TO ACCEPT
TCCC STUDENTS IN NEW ENTRY PROGRAM

CULLOWHEE – Western Carolina University will begin accepting degree candidates at Tri-County Community College into a “New Entry” program beginning this fall.

The program is designed to give TCCC students the advantages and benefits of enrollment at Western.

A drop-in information session will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, at the Harper Building Lobby on the TCCC campus in Murphy. Interested students may complete an application at the session and may be considered for instant decision at that time. 

Students entering the program will be required to complete four one-credit hour courses while earning their associate's degrees. The four courses are designed to provide the knowledge and skills the beginning student needs for successful progression towards associate's and bachelor's degrees.

Each course will be taught at the TCCC campus by Western faculty. Students in the program will be considered Western students and will have access to the resources and benefits of enrollment as a part-time student on campus .

Interested students should bring their high school transcripts and be prepared to pay the $40 application fee at the time of application. Course tuition of $66.54 is payable at the time of registration.
