CULLOWHEE - Western's Humanities program recently launched a Web site that provides information on academics, applying, residential living, and more.

The interdisciplinary Humanities program offers students a broad, well-rounded education through complementary double major options, said Dane Scott, associate dean of the  Honors College. Five departments at Western have created special 27-hour majors designed for Humanities students; any two of the majors may be combined as long as they are in different departments. The participating departments are art; communication, theatre arts and dance; English; modern foreign languages; and philosophy and religion.

Students majoring in one of the participating programs are eligible to live with other Humanities students on the same floor in the new residential hall currently under construction on the Cullowhee campus.
