ADVENTURE EDUCATION CONFERENCE
TO BE HELD ON WCU CAMPUS NOV. 3

Western Carolina University's Parks and Recreation Management Club and on-campus outfitter, Base Camp Cullowhee, will present the 14th annual Adventure Education Conference, “Mountains of Adventure,” on Friday, Nov. 3.

The daylong conference will include a 9:30 a.m. presentation by David Hepp, paddlesports manager for the National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, and an intercollegiate disc golf tournament at 2:15 p.m. Sessions will be offered on Boundary Waters canoe expeditions, international adventure travel, study abroad, adventure and physical education, adventure sports classes, American Whitewater and other topics.

The meeting is designed for students, camp personnel, outdoor leaders and instructors, outdoor therapists, recreation personnel, physical education teachers, outfitters and others.

Activities will begin at A.K. Hinds University Center at 8 a.m. The registration fee is $20 through Tuesday, Oct. 24, and $25 thereafter. The fee includes breakfast and lunch.
