Western Carolina University will host an evening of international song, dance and cultural heritage in July as part of the annual Folkmoot USA festival.
Groups representing France, New Zealand, Ecuador, the United Kingdom, Colombia and Thailand will perform Tuesday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m. at the Fine and Performing Arts Center. The line-up is subject to change.
Folkmoot USA , which is based in Waynesville, is an international folk festival featuring musicians and dancers from foreign countries demonstrating their cultural heritage through music, dance and costume. Patterned after the classic European folk festivals, Folkmoot USA is the largest festival of its kind in the United States.
Admission to the July 25 performance at WCU is $18 for adults, $15 for WCU faculty and staff, and $5 for children, ages 12 and under.
