1) Start of each month, Tim Carstens creates two lists in Innopac/Millennium. One for LC books, one for cds/videos/dvds. Tim lets Robin Hitch know where these lists are, once they are created.
2) Export the following from each list:
Bib - Author
Bib - Title
Bib - Pub Info
Item - Location
Item - Call #
Bib - Record #
Field Delimiter - @
Text Qualifier - \
Repeated Field Delimiter - <none>
Maximum Field Length - <none>
Browse to Desktop - name the export something you recognize.
2) Open each text file. Change field names at the top of each file from CALL #... to CALL Number and RECORD #... to RECORD Number. Close the files.
3) Open homepage site in Dreamweaver. Check out and open db1.mdb from H:\library\Homepage\Www\reddot_asp\
4) Open "lcs" table and delete all rows. Open "cd video dvd" table and delete all rows. Close each table.
5) Import each list. External Data. Text File. Import wizard answers - delimited - delimited by other=@, text qualifer =\, first row does contain field names - import into existing table. Import LC books file into "lcs" table, import Videos, CDs, DVDs file into "cd video dvd" table.
6) Edit each table for diacritics. Find and replace or manually fix diacritics.
7) Close database and check back in.
8) Open 1604.asp with RedDot. Select Body Copy to change text at top of page to current month and year.
9) Write and post a news item. The following day, when the new item posts, delete last month's news item.
