PURCHASED DATABASE (bought by Hunter Library, NC Live, consortium, etc.)
Nancy alerts the following people:
Reatha creates the WAM table record and lets Krista know it's ready.
Krista create the proxied URL and adds an entry (title, URL, what company provides it, who paid, blurb) to the A-Z list.
Liaisons decide to which subject lists to add the database. They write subject-specific blurbs. These are proofed by a member of the editorial group.
Subject-specific blurbs and the order in which the database should appear on the subject pages are forwarded to Krista to add.
THE DATABASE IS NOW AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC.
Tim assigns the cataloging. All purchased databases will be cataloged.
The procedure for adding the database IS NOW COMPLETE.
FREE DATABASE (available on the web, anyone can use it)
Liaison writes the A-Z blurb using the text below AND a general description.
"This database is available free on the Internet and it has been selected by [XX] Librarian as appropriate for authority and content of information in the subject area(s) of [education, for example_____]."
A-Z general description is proofed by a member of the editorial group.
A-Z blurb, database title and URL are forwarded to Krista to add to the A-Z list.

Liaisons wishing to have the website added to the catalog should follow the procedures already in place for submitting websites to collection development for review.
REMOVING/EDITING FREE OR PAY DATABASE
Removals of pay databases will come from the ERG.
Removals of free databases will come from the liaison.
Krista will remove them from the database of databases. The ERG or liaison will alert the reference folks.
