Web (upper case when referring to the World Wide Web)

web (lower case when referring to “technologies that are typically but not exclusively used with the World Wide Web” as in “web authoring tool.”

Abbreviations, Dates, Numbers

a.m. and p.m. (Note: no space after the first period)

Use two letter code for state abbreviations. No spaces or periods between letters. NC, AZ, WY, etc.

United States (noun)
U.S. (adjective)

Spell out date using American format.
February (not Feb.)
February 1912 (no comma)
February 14, 1912 (not 14 February 1912)

Numbers: use words for one through nine and figures for 10 and above.

Capitalization

In bibliographies, follow the style guide rules for the field.

Seasons are written in lower case:
