Duties of EDP Disaster Recovery Team

The EDP Disaster Recovery Team is a subcommittee of the General Disaster Recovery Team. This team consists of four or five employees of the Library with the Systems Librarian serving as the team leader. Members should be knowledgeable about computer technology and basic troubleshoot. The Systems Librarian will recommend possible members of the team to the University Librarian for assignment to this committee.

The primary meeting area for the Team will be in the Library Conference Room (Hunter 245). If conditions prohibit the availability of this room, a secondary meeting area will be in 540 H. R. Robinson Administration building. In the case of major emergency, the EDP Disaster Recovery Team being a subset of the Hunter Library Disaster Recover Team, will meet at least one every working day.

General Responsiblities of the EDP Disaster Recovery Team

  • Becoming thoroughly familiar with the EDP Disaster Recovery Plan for Hunter Library. Members of the team should have one copy of the plan at home and one at work.
  • Updating the plan on a regular scheduled basis, at least once a year. Each time a section of the Plan is used, notes should be made of changes and communicated to the other members of the team. The team is responsible for updating the Plan at least once a year.
  • Distributing copies of this plan and its updates to appropriate persons or offices.
  • Training library staff, especially those that work nights and weekends.
  • Communicating disaster events and their responses to others on the team.
