Mr. James Watson Dear Friend
I now seat my self this plesant eavening
to inform you that wee are all well at
presant hoping these lines will come
to hand and find you and friends all
well I recieved yourse of feb the 17th
and was glad to hear that you and
friends was all well Dear sir I would
like to see you a gain but the time
doo not permit you have nobly responded
to our countrys call of which perhaps
I would bee with you if times would
permit or at least if my health was
good. the foe is invadeing our soil and
you are nobly standting in her defence
and if the opertunity offers I think
you all will serve the foe just right
that is to make them wheel about and take the
step that is called doubel quick or else
by your exerciouns they tumble down
like they ought to bee served
I must rite something a bout times here
they acks seventy five cts for corn here
bacon 12½ cts a pound salt 20 dollars
a sack. they are a making up a nother
company in Jackson doctor sensaboy is the
capt thare has several voanteard in
the company I understand george shook

I understand they loud to finish making

up their company to day at webster
they wanted one hundred and thirty men
in Jackson County and two hundred
and forty men in macon County
it looks like taking nearly all
the men out of the country but
wee must stand to the storm of war
to defend our country from the
stubern foe to keep them back
from our soil and finaly I hope to
preserve liberty and peace forever
and you can return in peace to your
homes a gain to your welcome ing
fathers and mothers wives and brothers
and sisters who will rejoice to see
you come back a gain to live and
cultivate your native land. please

a bout your fare and a bout
the growth of the country. pleese
