A State Convention has been held in North Carolina favorable to the election of Gen. Jackson as President and P. P. Barbour as Vice President. Delegates from 18 counties attended. Gen. Iredell was appointed President of the Convention and Willis Allston, E. B. Dadley, and W. A. Blount, Vice Presidents. Resolutions were adopted and candidates for elections nominated. It seems probable that five electoral tickets, the one for Jackson and Van Buren, and the other for Jackson and Barbour, will be supported in North Carolina.
