Gov. Lumpkin has advised his friends in Congress; in letters received this day, that

he will not abandon the survey and disposition of the Cherokee lands, and that he will enforce the laws of Georgia, in relation to the Indians and their territory, in opposition to the laws of the United States or the mandates of the Supreme Court. It is also said, in the Governor's letters, that the people of Georgia and their constituted authorities will all support him in maintaining the laws of Georgia. By the same mail letters from Georgia, of a most excited kind in relation to the Tariff, are received.

The writers threaten no less than nullification and war in case the principle of Mr. Clay's resolution be adopted.
