Learning Communities Mission Statement

Teaching and learning constitute the central mission of Western Carolina University. The University seeks to create a community of scholarship in which the activities of its members are consistent with the highest standards of knowledge and practice in their disciplines.

Learning Communities have been structured to create an atmosphere that actively engages students and faculty in the learning process, while fostering a sense of belonging and cooperation within the program and the university. It is our aim to accomplish the creation of a community of learners/scholars in which students feel connected to and supported by the campus.
