Biography:

Jess Weiler grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and attended St. Louis University for her bachelor's and master's degrees. She worked as a speech-language pathologist in both healthcare and educational settings in southern California. Dr. Weiler and her family moved to Wisconsin where she served as a clinical and adjunct instructor at UW-Milwaukee, in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. During this time, Dr. Weiler completed her coursework for a doctoral degree in educational leadership and policy analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. After moving to Asheville, NC, she worked as a high school assistant principal and completed her dissertation examining the factors that can inhibit or support the success of teacher-teams in beginning professional learning communities. Dr. Weiler works with schools across the WNC Region, helping them to develop, grow, and sustain an effective PLC.
