Instrumentation Schedules

Scheduling Time on Instruments

The calendars below are used to (1) reserve time on an instrument and (2) provide an actual log of time on the instrument.   All users must use the calendar.

To reserve/log time, you must first check to make sure the instrument is not already reserved using the calendars below and then, if it is available, fill out the form to reserve the instrument.  If you know that you'll need the instruments on a recurring basis (or for a lab you teach), you may schedule a recurring appointment.  Please make every attempt to only schedule time that you actually plan to use.

Scheduling Policies:

  • Most instruments are available on a walk-up basis, although priority is given to calendar users over walk-up clients.
  • Walk-up users must still log their time on the calendar.
  • If more than 30 minutes has elapsed and a user has not showed up for their reserved time, the slot may be forfitted to any walk-up user. (The exception to this rule occurs when a class has an instrument reserved for a laboratory.)
  • All first-time users on any given instrument must register with the Instrumentation Specialist (AP 346, mburleson@wcu.edu) prior to reserving time on the instrument.

If you experience scheduling conflicts, please notify the Instrumentation Specialist in Natural Science 209 and/or file an Instrument Incident Report.
