Western Carolina University’s First Annual Conference on Interdisciplinary Innovations: Approaches to Global Concerns Conference

Friday, 7 April 2017 | Blue Ridge Conference Room
9:15 am – 1:15 pm

On behalf of WCU's Nomad and Society of Professional Communicators, we are pleased to invite you to attend this year's conference, which focuses on the interdisciplinary nature of issues across the globe.

Conference Schedule

Interdisciplinary Innovations will feature presentations by undergraduate students from various disciplines at WCU. This conference will provide a forum for students to share their works, research, and projects that engage with 21st-century global issues in an effort to increase interdisciplinary collaborations and actions. Selected works from the conference will be published in the Fall 2017 issue of Nomad.

Presentations are based on topics that range from equality and ethics to the environment. Whether you are interested in issues such as women's rights or concerned about the decline of honey bees, you will be sure to find a captivating subject at the Interdisciplinary Innovations conference!

We are proud to announce the 2017 student presenters: Haylee Wilkie, Rachel Utnage, Seth Rollins, Dean Martin, Rachel Fields, Elizabeth Montgomery, and Fiona Buchanan. Each panel will include a Q&A session with the students followed by a brief dialogue with other WCU student organizations.

Admission is free, and we welcome all faculty, staff, students, and members of the community to come support WCU students and to celebrate their hard work
