In March, mStoner presented a “Writing for the Web” workshop to a select group of staff and faculty who maintain web sites for their units. This group also will receive training in the CMS and provide support for other web masters within their divisions.
The consultants are writing 150 top-level pages which include the About, Admissions, Academics, and Student Life sections; the Athletics section will link to WCU's already robust Catamountsports.com site; and the Office of Web Services is preparing the Giving, Alumni, and News and Events sections.
Since mid March, the Office of Web Services has worked with the Chancellor's office, the Provost's office, Advancement, Admissions, Public Relations, Student Affairs, the colleges, the Graduate School, International Programs and Services, Educational Outreach, Alumni Affairs and others to make sure that the content for the main pages is up-to-date and accurate.
Post launch, the remainder of WCU's web pages will need to be revised and put into one of the design formats using the CMS. Web Services will create a schedule and priority list for post-launch web page revisions in September to guide the orderly conversion to the new design. |
