Western faculty members are increasingly facing the prospect of teaching with technology either as a requirement through distance learning courses or in a desire to integrate technology with their curriculum.
In order to provide additional support to faculty, IT's Department of Educational Technologies, the Division of Distance and Continuing Education, and The Coulter Faculty Center are sponsoring four Faculty Fellows. These Faculty Fellows, one for each college, will foster enthusiasm and mentor other faculty in integrating technology into teaching and in migrating courses for distance delivery.
The following Faculty Fellows already successfully integrate technology into their teaching and are an excellent resource for peer encouragement and mentoring:
Bob Houghton, College of Education and Applied Professions
Gary Jones, College of Business
Mae Claxton, Arts & Sciences
Mary Teslow, Applied Sciences
The Coulter Center and Educational Technologies plan to welcome the fellows formally with a small get-together in late January or early February. The Faculty Fellows are already busy planning several other events for the spring semester.
