Update on WCU's laptop rental program |
There has been a lot of discussion about WCU's plans to offer a laptop rental program to students, possibly as early as fall 2008. Because of the complexity in setting up this kind of a unique program, we now anticipate an initial offering for campus students for fall 2009.

IT and Client Services are happy to announce Cherwell Service Desk, our new Helpdesk ticketing system. Cherwell is replacing the Remedy system, which we have used for the past several years.

IT to support Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) and Windows Vista |
Effective March 31, 2008 the Division of Information Technology will begin supporting Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) and on June 1, 2008 will begin supporting Windows Vista.

Thanks to a Microsoft Campus Agreement, Western Carolina University students can now get a license to use MS Office Professional (Mac or Windows) and update their MS Windows operating system.
