The IPS mission is to serve WCU students and faculty, as well as foreign students, scholars, and their family members who attend WCU, and to enhance the global awareness of Western Carolina University. Some of the services IPS provides include: |

INCORPORATE INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION AT WCU |

| • Supervise international events on WCU campus |
| • Supervise the local K-12 International Outreach Program |
| |
EXPAND AND DIVERSIFY OVERSEAS OPPORTUNITIES FOR WCU STUDENTS |

| • Collaborate with foreign institutions to develop new study abroad programs |
| • Offer comprehensive study abroad programs for WCU students |

INCREASE AND DIVERSIFY WCU'S INTERNATIONAL STUDENT POPULATION |

| • Issue international/exchange student visa documentation |
| • Advise international and exchange students and scholars |

INTERNATIONALIZE THE WCU FACULTY AND STAFF

| • Develop faculty/staff exchanges with foreign institutions |

PROMOTE MORE GLOBAL AWARENESS THROUGH THE WCU CURRICULUM |

| • Serve as coordinator of the local Phi Beta Delta Honor Society for International Scholars |
| • Encourage broader internationalization of the WCU campus |
| • Direct the GLOBECATS program |
