Want to be an Exchange student at WCU ?


Initially, you must speak with the Study Abroad Advisor at your home institution. There are three ways to participate on an exchange to WCU:
 

Bilateral Exchange: your home institution has an established agreement with

                                  WCU already. Contact your home study Abroad Advisor

                                  read information for Exchange via Bilateral Agreements

 

UNCEP: your home institution has an established agreement with the

                University of North Carolina Exchange Program

                If your home institution collaborates with UNCEP, then you must

                apply to WCU via UNCEP.

 

ISEP: your home institution collaborates with the International Student

            Exchange Program. If your home institution collaborates with ISEP, you

            must apply to WCU via ISEP.

           

Once you have been accepted to WCU, you will receive an acceptance packet with important information, including the DS-2019 (Bilateral and UNCEP only), Health insurance booklets, immunization form, on-campus residency contract, etc. You may contact kchilders@wcu.edu to register for new arrival orientation.

ISEP exchanges will obtain the DS-2019 via ISEP.


EXCHANGE VIA BILATERAL AGREEMENTS
 
If you are a student at a university that has a bilateral agreement with WCU, then you must apply directly to WCU with the assistance of your home study abroad advisor. Follow the requirements below:
 

1. Complete the WCU international application for undergraduate admission and certification of finances (Your study abroad advisor may also request more available applications from the Office of Admissions: Email: admiss@wcu.edu

2. Official copies of academic records from current institution, including a record of courses taken and grades received and expected graduation date.

3. Test of English as a Foreign Language (click TOEFL for homepage) scores for non-native English speakers.

4. You will automatically be enrolled into Pearce & Pearce insurance. If you choose to opt out of this insurance to use your own, follow this online link to waive out of the WCU insurance.

5. Complete and return your current Immunizations form. Link to form

6. Complete residency contract, if you plan to live on-campus (this form will be made available to you within your acceptance packet).

7. Register for New Arrival Orientation. Email kchilders@wcu.edu to inform us that you wish to participate.

 
 
FOR ALL EXCHANGES !!!
