User's Guide

The Interlibrary Loan service allows WCU students, faculty and staff to obtain library materials (books, audiovisual materials, microform), articles from periodicals and scholarly journals, and book chapters that are not owned by any of the three schools of the Western North Carolina Library Network (WNCLN). Read our Frequently Asked Questions.

Before submitting a request for library materials using the Interlibrary Loan service, please search the Library Catalog with WNCLN (ASU, UNCA, & WCU) selected from the drop-down menu on the right side of the search box. If you find what you are looking for, you may request it for delivery to Hunter Library's Circulation Desk via the ABC Express service, and an Interlibrary Loan request will not be necessary.

Click here for the video tutorial How to Request an ABC Express Item.

If what you are looking for is not available from any of the WNCLN schools, this is when you should submit an Interlibrary Loan request for it. To use the Interlibrary Loan service, you must create an ILL account.

Click here to view the video tutorial Interlibrary Loan: Create an Account.

Once you have an ILL account, you may submit requests. Below are links to two more video tutorials which may be helpful. Many thanks to Hunter Library's Undergraduate Experience Librarian, Elizabeth Marcus, for creating these great tutorials.
