The collection contains two letters written by George Washington Carver to the Slagle family of Franklin, North Carolina. One letter is addressed to Mrs. J.H. Slagle and dated November 13, 1927; the other letter is addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Slagle and is dated December 17, 1924. Also included is a 1978 newspaper article on the history of the letters.
