Content Organization And Managment (COM)

The Content Organization and Management Department supports the mission of Hunter Library by selecting, acquiring, processing, and providing bibliographic, electronic and physical access to monographs, serials, audiovisual materials, and electronic resources, including databases. The department further assists faculty, staff, and students by providing information regarding monographs, serials, audiovisual materials, and electronic resources and making decisions involving which materials should be acquired with funds available and according to collection development policies and procedures. The department is responsible for creating and maintaining the online catalog and for creating metadata for digital projects and special collections finding aids.
