Application Notes
| 1 | Applications for fall ad-mission should be at the Graduate School by April1. |
| 2 | Applications for spring add-mission should be at the Graduate School by Nov. 1. |
| 3 | With satisfactory grades and recommendations, students may take up to six semester hours prior to submitting official GRE scores. Such students have Conditional program status. |
| 4 | Students with good grades who do not test well on the GRE may be admitted to the HR Program on a Provisional basis. |
| 5 | In some cases GMAT test scores may be substituted for GRE scores. |

| Step One: | Download, complete, and mail an Enrollment Application Form to the Graduate School, 111 Outreach Center, Western Carolina University, Cullowhee, NC 28723. Please include a $40 application fee. |
| Step Two: | Download and distribute Recommendations Forms to three references. Ask that they mail forms to the Graduate School (see address above) |
| Step Three: | Download and mail to all colleges you have attended copies of Transcript Request Forms. Request all official transcripts be mailed directly to Graduate School (see address above) |
| Step Four: | Take the GRE (general test only) at a Sylvan Learning Center near your home. Have scores mailed directly to the Graduate School (see address above) |
| Step Five: | If you are seeking a Graduate Assistantship, please read the following information and contact the following individuals. |
*International applicants must also take the TOEFL exam and complete additional forms. They should also contact Western's International Programs & Services Office.
