Members of the Madison Society help WCU fulfill our mission of teaching, learning and service. Initiatives across the university—from scholarship support to the university’s greatest needs—are greatly enhanced by the generosity of our Madison Society members.

How to Join
Annual
Alumni and friends who give $1,889 (in recognition of WCU’s founding in 1889) or more
within a fiscal year (July 1-June 30) are recognized as Annual Members. Special categories
of annual giving are reserved for current students who give $18.89 or more and for
alumni who graduated in the five most recent classes of undergraduates and give $188.90
or more. Single or multiple gifts directed to any purpose at WCU and given within
any single fiscal year are counted toward your total for recognition at this level.
Lifetime
Alumni and friends of the university whose gifts total $25,000 or more over their
lifetimes are recognized as Lifetime Members. Cash, marketable securities, in-kind
gifts and other outright gifts are considered at this level. Whether you direct your
gift to academics, athletics, individual colleges or programs, scholarships, Hunter
Library, endowments, the Loyalty Fund or other purposes, your ongoing contributions
are added to your total for this level of recognition
Legacy
Alumni and friends who invest in the future of WCU by allocating assets through bequests
and other provisions in their estate plans are recognized as Legacy Members if they
choose to provide documentation of their intentions. Please contact us to discuss details about your legacy gift.
