The Office of Development is looking for exceptional Western Carolina University students to represent WCU as Chatty Cats during the upcoming Loyalty Fund Phonathon

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Western Carolina University
  • Familiarity with the Western Carolina University campus, activities and history
  • Interest in helping Western Carolina University
  • Ability to speak English clearly and communicate effectively by telephone
  • Courteous and engaging personality
  • Ability to present facts in a concise and persuasive manner
  • Ability to follow directions and accurately record data/details
  • Good time management skills


  • Inform Western Carolina University alumni and parents of campus events, news, and enhancements
  • Professionally communicate WCU’s mission and priorities
  • Maintain and update information and records
  • Ask alumni and parents for their financial support of the University via credit card gift or pledge
  • Accept constructive feedback/coaching from the Phonathon Supervisor in order to improve phoning skills and enhance results
  • Meet Phonathon performance standards
  • Display a professional and positive attitude
  • Manage school work load and job hours
  • Uphold Phonathon Employment & Confidentiality Agreements
  • Work a minimum of two shifts per week
  • Attend and participate in Monthly Phonathon staff meetings
  • Must be in good judicial and academic standing (minimum G.P.A. of 2.3)


  • Monday Evening from 6:00-9:00 PM
  • Tuesday Evening from 6:00-9:00 PM
  • Wednesday Evening from 6:00-9:00 PM
  • Thursday Evening from 6:00-9:00 PM
  • Every other Sunday from 2:00-5:00 PM
