Linda Brockinton

Little Rock, Arkansas
Morning Skills - Level IV – Upper Intermediate with various afternoon electives

Linda brings the gentler side of the dulcimer back to Dulcimer U, having last been on our staff in 2015. She comes to us from Little Rock Arkansas. She has been playing music since she was 11 years old. She was a flute major in college and played with the Arkansas Symphony during its inception years in the late 60s.

She began playing the mountain dulcimer in the late 1980's. In 1999, Linda won the Southern Regional Mountain Dulcimer Championship. She was the first woman to win the National Mountain Dulcimer Championship in 2001. Since then she has been teaching around the country at dulcimer, folk and Irish festivals.

Linda has written nine instruction books for dulcimer and recorded eight CDs. She teaches private flute and dulcimer lessons at her home studio in Arkansas. She prefers the softer side of the dulcimer with her favorite music being Celtic, hymns and folk/old time.

Linda will be teaching both morning skills and afternoon electives, in addition to performing on the evening concert schedule.  You can find Linda at
