Collecting for the Community
M – F, 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, until 7:00 pm TH
WCU’s Mountain Heritage Center has moved across campus! The Center’s exhibit galleries in the HFR Building closed on April 13, 2015. The MHC has now moved its offices and exhibits to Hunter Library, where we are continuing to serve WCU and the community.
Our offices, located on the 2nd floor of Hunter Library, are open M-F, 8 am – 5 pm. We are currently hosting a traveling exhibit from the Levine Museum of the New South, "From Apartheid to Democracy" in the lobby adjacent to our office. Our new 1,500 sq. ft. exhibit gallery on the ground floor of Hunter Library is open 10 am - 4 pm.
Our collections will remain in the HFR Building, where our artifact preservation and research work will continue. Ultimately, the MHC will be the centerpiece of a new WCU Visitors Center. Our main phone number is still the same (828-227-7129) and you can find the latest information about upcoming programs and exhibits, as well as complete contact information here and on Facebook.
