American Trombone Quartet Summer Seminar

American Trombone Quartet Summer Seminar: June 11-16, 2017

The American Trombone Quartet invites you to attend the American Trombone Quartet Summer Seminar on the campus of Western Carolina University from June 11-16, 2017.

Open to all high school and undergraduate trombonists, this thrilling week of trombone and music making is in its first year. The American Trombone Quartet will serve as artist-faculty for the camp and includes Dr. Jemmie Robertson (Eastern Illinois University), Dr. Bill Mann (Georgia State University), Nathaniel Lee (University of Virginia), and Dr. Zsolt Szabo of Western Carolina University. This year, the Camp will be held concurrently with the Assembly Saxophone Quartet’s Summer Music Camp, and participants will be able to learn from both chamber ensembles in a variety of settings.

Camp activities include performance in solo, chamber, and ensemble music settings, private lessons, study of jazz and contemporary techniques, and classes in improving musicianship and performance. Days will also include concerts by the American Trombone Quartet, group activities (including a rafting trip through the beautiful Smoky Mountains!), and student performances. This is a wonderful opportunity for all student trombonists to hone their craft in a week of intense music and fun times!
