Merit-Based and Need-Based Foundation Scholarships
WCU offers numerous scholarships that have been established by alumni and other friends of the university. Some of these scholarships are based on financial need and others are based on merit. Many of these scholarships also have criteria related to academic program of study, county of residence, or leadership and involvement in activities. The general scholarship application is required for consideration for these scholarships. Students also must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1 each year in order to be considered for need-based scholarships.
Scholarships are available to new freshmen and transfer students based on academic achievement. Consideration is based on academic records submitted during the admission process. For detailed information about these opportunities, new freshmen should contact the Honors College and transfer students should contact the Admission Office.
Especially for Graduate Students
Graduate students can be considered for many of our merit-based and need-based scholarships and should submit the online scholarship application. Additionally, there are several programs available through the Graduate School to assist with funding your graduate education.
